Established in the XV century the University of Torino (UniTo) is one of the most ancient, prestigious, and largest Italian Universities currently hosting 27 departments, 75.000 students, 3.838 academic, administrative, and technical staff, 2600 post-graduate and PhD students. 

In addition to its two fundamental objectives (Training and Research), the body pursues the Third Mission to promote the direct application, enhancement, and use of knowledge to contribute to the social, cultural, and economic development of society. 

Concerning the HOOD project, the role played by UniTo is widely supported by the Department of Philosophy and Educational Sciences-DPES as well as by the DiVI- Center for Studies on Rights and Independent Living, active in the field of promoting more practical research experiences, social actions based on methodologies of intervention widely recognized by the scientific community.
