Sant Joan de Déu, Serveis Socials serves homeless people in the city of Barcelona since 1979. SJD works alongside homeless people, providing support and services to improve their situation and shape their future. SJD is also focused on reducing homelessness by promoting structural measures through integral attention, always maintaining the identity values of the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital Order, Hospitality, Quality, Respect, Responsibility and Spirituality.
The institutional mission is to host and accompany people in poverty and social exclusion by maximising their potential to successfully achieve transformation and change processes, starting with their freedom and counting on community resources.
SJD has expanded its housing programs: micro places, expansion of the housing first model and geographical area widened with the open of new housing resources outside the Barcelona metropolitan area.
