The Department of Humanities (DiSU) of the University of Triestebrings together and coordinates various research and teaching paths in the field of humanities: from literary studies to history and art history, from philosophy to archaeology, from geography to linguistic studies and pedagogy, to social studies and the disciplines of communication and entertainment.
The possibility of interweaving research lines and wide-ranging teaching experiences makes the Department an open space for discussion and comparison, based on constant reflection on the central role of the humanities in the present and future.
The common working project looks both at collaboration with specific local realities and at a national and international dimension, as different spaces in which to develop critical thinking, aware of the memory of the past, but also and above all of future questions and challenges.
Within the HOOD project, the department’s participation takes the form of the involvement of Professor Luigi Gui, creator of the altervision method, which has been experimented and used for years in Italy with socio-educational teams.
